We are privileged to make a difference and love what we do. We are currently hiring a Domestic Violence Victims Advocate (DV Victims Advocate) to work in our Herkimer location. As the Domestic Violence Victims Advocate (DV Victims Advocate) you would be responsible for: + Crisis and supportive services to DV clients in person or though 24-hour hotline. Complete assessment of needed supports and services, available resources and a plan for meeting client’s needs. + Provide advocacy for victims applying for other services in order to live violence and abuse free. + Attend professional trainings and conferences to maintain and develop current knowledge of all aspects of the issue of domestic violence. + Provide or arrange for transportation as necessary. Client advocacy and accompaniment through court, social services, medical and housing systems, and others where appropriate. + Maintain accurate and complete case notes. Provision of children services, including: counseling, recreational activities and childcare as appropriate. Shared coverage of 24-hour hotline. Facilitation of support group as required. + Other duties as assigned. Domestic Violence Victims Advocate (DV Victims Advocate) Minimum Salary: $17.50 / Hour Domestic Violence Victims Advocate (DV Victims Advocate) Maximum Salary: $18.50 / Hour Domestic Violence Victims Advocate (DV Victims Advocate) Schedule: 17.5 hours a week; Flexible Schedule, including Friday evening, Saturday morning and Sunday evening Qualifications: + Bachelor’s Degree Preferred, in Human Service Field; will consider those that have a special interest in working with population served. + Experience with trauma informed, survivor-centered service provisions. + Experience and knowledge of domestic violence protocols.
