Job Description:
The Donation Resource Assistant supports the Donation Resource Manager in ensuring the organization has the “in-kind” resources it needs to achieve its vision and mission. The PRN oversees the daily operations of Sojourner Center’s Donation Resource Center in addition to supporting with donor acknowledgement and volunteer management. This position is directly responsible for receiving, merchandising, and organizing donations. In addition to interfacing with and supporting donors, the Donation Resource PRN works directly with Sojourner Center residents and supports their needs in the Donation Resource Center.
Schedule: Part-Time, day shifts
Rate of Pay: 17.00/hour
Responsibilities Provides scheduling services to ensure residential programs has the staff resources needed to maintain operations.Makes recommendations to better serve program participants in the donation center.Oversees voucher processProvides friendly, professional and expedient customer service to participants, staff and donors.Remains aware of what shelter and transitional housing needs can be filled in-store and works toward meeting them. Partners with Donation Resource Manager to solicit resources needed for residents and the organization.Performs open and closing daily activities.Maintains and organizes the warehouse.Accepts and sorts donations.Answers donation center telephone and routes calls appropriately.Maintains safety and confidentially of participants.Accurately operates the register, using the needs list and voucher tools, in an environment that requires multi-tasking.Supports Shelter Services with meeting the basic needs for both Campuses.Provides training and support to volunteers.Applies a working knowledge of shelter programs and DV while performing job duties.Attends regular staff trainings and team meetings.Drives Sojourner Center box truck and other Sojourner Center vehicles based on program needs.Collaborates with other departments to determine furniture, driving, and project needs. Qualifications Associate's degree in related field plus one years’ experience in a social services setting.Two to three years’ experience in retail setting preferred.Experience in a domestic violence shelter or related facility preferred.Ability to obtain a Level I Fingerprint Clearance Card.Valid Arizona Driver License, proof of automobile insurance and Motor Vehicle Record acceptable to Sojourner Center’s insurance company.Other Duties: Performs other related job tasks or responsibilities as assigned.
