Veterans Inc. is seeking to fill the Development Engagement Specialist position.

Under the general direction of the Sr. Fund Development Manager, the Donor Engagement Specialist is a key member of the Development team and is responsible for the identification, acquisition, and retention of donors, maintaining the donor database, acknowledgment of all donations, individual giving strategies, and overall development support.\n
This position is onsite within the Development Office.\n
WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR DAY TO DAY:\n\nDevelop and refine strategies to ensure proper acknowledgment, recognition, and stewardship of donors.\nDevelop and implement Individual Giving strategies and analysis for the Annual Giving campaign.\nSupport the maintenance and expansion of relationships with individual\/corporate donors, foundations, and other grant-makers.\nTrack giving and produce reports as needed to share with the team.\nTrack event\/sponsorship\/foundation donation management.\nCommunicating with finance to reconcile donor records\nFacilitating timely acknowledgment functions (Letters, etc.)\nCollaborate on grant-seeking strategies and manage a calendar of planned grants to support new projects and ongoing initiatives.\nCollaborate with Sr. Fund Development Manager on research, preparation, and management of unrestricted grants through application and reporting process; develop timelines and tracking systems as necessary.\nProducing compelling and informative donor-directed pieces, such as annual impact reports, fundraising appeals, and acknowledgment letters.\nAssist with annual fundraising events as needed.\n\n
WHAT YOU MUST HAVE:\n\nBachelor's degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Business, or a related field.\nFour (4) to six (6) years experience in donor relations, non-profit operations, writing and\/or filing applications (manual and electronic), evaluation, project management, reporting, and public outreach\/relations preferred.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.\nOutstanding communication and organizational skills with strong grammar, creative writing, proofreading, and word processing skills required.\nMust be able to confidently and successfully manage competing deadlines and prioritize to accomplish tasks.\nExcellent critical thinking, problem-solving, and organizational skills.\nExceptional project management skills (prioritizing, timeline, budget, procedure, reporting, and evaluation) required.\nThis position requires some travel, reliable transportation, and a valid driver's license are required.\nMust be able to pass a CORI\/background records check successfully.\nCompliance with Veterans Inc.
