Title: Security Officer
\n\nLocation: One Charles, Boston, MA
\n\nJob Summary:
\n\nThe primary focus for the Security Officer is to maintain a safe and secure environment through visibility and technological resources. The Security Officer is also responsible for protecting and serving the residential units and applicable common area elements.
\n\nRESPONSIBILITIES include:
\n\n\nMaintain the highest safety and security standards for the property, residents, and guests and protect the property by immediately addressing and resolving all issues\nMonitor entrances and exits to ensure property remains secure and perform inspections to ensure life safety initiatives are in compliance.\nReport any suspicious activities to the Security Operations Center\nRespond and assist with resident lock-outs, accidents, and emergencies\nConduct patrols of designated areas as scheduled, with goal of 100% effectiveness \nEnsure compliance with all contractor and vendor procedures for entering the building and utilizing the badge system and assist with employee I.D. program\nReceive and arrange distribution of newspapers to residents. Coordinate deliveries and log all incoming packages\nProvide escorts to food delivery personnel as directed\nEnforce security property pass policies for the removal of items from the building\nOperate the service elevator as required\nMaintain detailed logs of receiving reports, department equipment, systems, and other information\nProcure supplies, materials, and vendor service provisions following standard procedures\nProvide shift coverage to maintain minimum acceptable staffing as needed\nParticipate and contribute to training programs\nUtilize utmost discretion for residents to ensure their privacy\n\n\n Requirements\nQUALIFICATIONS and SKILLS:
\n\n\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent\nUnderstand and operate all life-safety and security-based systems utilized within security operations \nProfessional demeanor with demonstrated experience in the security industry \nExemplary customer service skills\nKnowledge of A.D.A. standards and blood-borne pathogens precautions\nAble to think quickly and use good judgment by identifying and resolving security risks and safety hazards including fire, medical and police issues\nMust work well under pressure and remain calm in all circumstances, prioritize, and follow thru\nAble to respond to and patrol and climb stairs in normal and emergencies\nAble to maintain positive relations with local law enforcement agencies\nA teamwork demeanor and ability to perform tasks and duties with minimal supervision \nGood oral and written communication skills\nStrong organizational and follow-up skills\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent\nAble to pass a drug test\n\n
