Summary

Provides essential physics support to Radiation Oncology, Diagnostic Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, contracted facilities, and the Health System, and general radiation safety by devising innovative applications of radiation physics principles.

 

Education

Must be registered in Radiation Therapy Technology by ARRT; or have a BS in Health Related Sciences followed by on-the-job Dosimetry training in a Medical Physics department, or be the graduate of a formal Dosimetry training program.

 

Licensure/Certification

Not required, but strongly encouraged.

 

Experience

Must have a minimum of two years' experience in major Radiation Therapy department with on-the-job training in Dosimetry or; Must have a minimum of four years' experience as registered Radiation Therapist in a major Radiation Therapy department with aptitude for dosimetry.
