Drafter

POWER Engineers is currently seeking a Drafter to join our Power Delivery Overhead Transmission Line Department in our Portland, Oregon office. This person will be part of a dynamic team that provides engineering services to our clients across the country and abroad. Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading, supporting, and coordinating the following:

Technical Requirements and Development Develop working knowledge of Client/Power CAD Standards and Compliance. Adhere to POWER’s QA/QC procedure requiring upmost personal accountability to enhance the project team’s success.   Maintain a high level of drafting quality and efficiency in alignment with project scope and budget. Develop an understanding in both AutoCAD and MicroStation to support project requirements, which include: Vicinity Maps Structure List Plan and Profiles Phasing Drawings Foundation Drawings Structure Assembly Drawings Permit and Crossing Drawings Load and Design Drawings Through drafting assignments and project work, seek to gain an understanding of transmission lines beyond the redline mark-ups. Travel to POWER or client offices/field/vendor facilities as needed. Required Education/Experience: Associates degree or 1-year certificate in drafting (or equivalent technical degree) AutoCAD 2020-2024 experience Adobe PDF creation Able to work on multiple projects simultaneously. Time management and organizational skills are essential. Must be flexible to changes in work assignments as changes occur in project needs. Must be able to self-check own work for completeness and accuracy. Able to read and interpret drawings and drawing mark-ups. Able to use architectural and engineering scale to read and create drawings. The candidate must have strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills in order to work effectively with other team members. Preferred Education/Experience: Experience with AutoCAD Experience with MicroStation is a plus Knowledge of MS Office products Good background in basic mathematics Experience working with 3D drafting and detailing is a plus Bluebeam Revu experience is a plus Working knowledge of survey coordinate systems is a plus Practical intern or utility industry experience is preferred
