Job Title: Drafter Job Description This position involves performing 99% of tasks on the computer. The team receives drawings from clients where 95% of the CAD work is done. The drafter's role is to manage the data in those drawings and translate those files into shop detail drawings. Projects may involve working independently, with one other person, or with a team of up to nine, depending on the size of the project. All work is done in 2D, with no 3D design or product design required for this position. Responsibilities + Manage and translate data from client drawings into shop detail drawings. + Work on various projects independently or as part of a team, depending on project size. + Utilize AutoCAD and Excel for drafting tasks. + Read and interpret flat prints/blueprints. + Communicate effectively through written and verbal means. Essential Skills + Proficiency in AutoCAD with at least 1 year of experience. + Ability to read and interpret blueprints and flat prints. + Strong written and verbal communication skills. + Proficient computer skills, including at least 6 months of experience with Excel (pivot tables, data manipulation, H-lookups). + Mechanical inclination, such as experience with car repairs, home improvements, or shop work. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Associate's degree in CAD/drafting. + 3+ years of AutoCAD experience (preferred). + 2+ years of drafting experience within a piping setting (preferred). + Metal fabrication, manufacturing, or welding (preferred). Work Environment This role is within a growing and expanding company with a diverse client base. The team consists of 10 drafters and checkers. The work environment includes interfacing with a shop that is loud and noisy due to fabrication activities. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $22.00 Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
