Drafter / CAD Operator

KBR is seeking a DRAFTER / CAD Operator to support our SPACE SUIT for KBR’s Science and Space division. 

The DRAFTER / CAD Operator will work on a collaborative team developing, building and maintaining Space Suits and supporting equipment for low Earth orbit and beyond.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Using CAD software, such as Draftsite and SolidWorks, prepare models technical drawingsWorking with engineers and other professionals to produce drawings that meet their specificationsWriting related technical documents such as material lists and cost estimatesEnsuring that all drawings are accurate and meet industry standardsMaintaining a library of standard drawing templatesUpdating existing drawings as new information becomes availablePrepare and present designs at various design reviews using MS Word and PowerPointProduce other required design documentationUnderstand nominal production processesManage multiple issues at one time and develop an integrated solution

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

This position requires U.S. Citizenship due to the sensitivity of customer related information. Education: Must have a associate’s degree in the field of Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD), or a related field.Years of Experience: Must have  minimum of 1 years of recent and related work experience.In lieu of degree : Candidates with 5 years of relevant work experience will be considered.Candidate must possess excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, leadership, and team working skills.Demonstrated skill in using computer-aided design (CAD)/drafting equipment and software in design work.Demonstrated ability to collaborate well with peers and cross-functional teams and external customers.Excellent computer skills (MS Windows & Office) 

PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Experience with Solidworks, Draftsite and PDMAbility to examine and measure finished articles to verify conformance to standardsFamiliarity with JSC-STD-8080, Design and Procedural Standards

WORK LOCATION:

This position is located onsite.
