Job Description
Join our dynamic team as a Drafter/Designer where you will collaborate with the Lead Project Engineer and other project team members to transform innovative product ideas into prototypes or pilot designs. Utilize 3D tools such as PTC Creo to digitally prototype and develop 3D design models based on concepts, sketches, or previous designs. Your focus will be on creating detailed drawings that emphasize core manufacturing capabilities. You will conceptualize sheet metal designs using either 2D or 3D tools, ensuring precise tolerancing. Additionally, you will propose assembly or fabrication techniques and develop the mechanical, physical, and other attributes of new products to ensure they are manufacturable.
ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with the Lead Project Engineer and project team members to transform product ideas into prototypes or pilot designs.Utilize 3D tools such as PTC Creo to digitally prototype and develop 3D design models.Create detailed drawings based on concepts, sketches, or previous designs with a focus on core manufacturing capabilities.Conceptualize sheet metal designs using 2D or 3D tools ensuring accurate tolerancing.Propose assembly or fabrication techniques to ensure the design is manufacturable.Co-present model designs for technical or design reviews.Prepare comprehensive document packages for manufacturing release, including assembly drawings, Bills-of-materials, and machine files.Essential Skills4+ years of experience in developing and creating new products in the electrical-mechanical products space.Proficiency in 2D and 3D modeling software with a preference for 3D CAD, PTC Creo.Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office applications, including PowerPoint.Experience working with sheet metal.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience designing to UL, CSA, NEC, and other safety agency requirements.Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Aided Design (CAD) preferred; Associate Degree in Engineering or CAD.Machine tool programming.Work Environment
The work environment is an office setting attached to a manufacturing floor. The team will be relocating to a new office nearby in the coming months. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $29.00 - $36.00/hr.
