Under the direction of a Drafting Supervisor, our Drafters/Designers are responsible for responding to design/documentation demands and meeting response time and output goals. This position will train in an office setting in Tampa, Florida to begin with and then move to fully Remote once released. What you’ll do as a Drafter/Designer + Create new OSP network designs in various applications/software + Develop and issue work prints for OSP Telecom networks + Collaborate with Engineering and Construction + Coordinate with permitting agencies + Create funding documents/work packages listing applicable units, bill of materials and applicable purchase requisitions. + Ensure designs of facilities are performed in accordance with Company system practices, RUS requirements and requirements of Federal, State and local governing authorities + Provide any documentation required for the cost-effective placement of communication facilities What you’ll need + To be 18 years of age or older + Authorization to work in the United States for this compan + 4+ years of Telecom OSP Design/Engineering Experience + A working knowledge of the telecommunications industry standards, practices, and regulations pertaining to the engineering of outside plant facilities + Knowledge of aerial, buried and underground construction methods and engineering requirements + Knowledge of fiber optic counts, fiber assignments and splicing schematics in a high-density fiber environment is strongly preferred. + Knowledge of Fiber to the Home and Fiber to the Building is preferred. + Be familiar with general permitting requirements for State Department of Transportation, as well as other state, county, and city permitting agencies + Have a working knowledge of OSP Communications Design systems. + Have a working knowledge with applications such as NDS, FROGS, AutoCAD, Fireworks, Bidmaster, Infinium and/or Varasset is preferred. + Have strong organizational skills and experience with Excel and Word + Be able to effectively communication skills and professional accountability + Have a minimum of a High School Diploma or GED, Bachelor's Degree preferred in a related industry. + Must have own reliable transportation Why work with us Your career here is more than just a job — it's your pathway to opportunity.
