Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Draftsman to join our team for a greenfield project to construct a state-of-the-art Potato processing plant. Reporting to the Engineering Project Manager and working closely with the EPCM (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Management) firm and other contractors, the Draftsman will be responsible for creating and maintaining both 2D and 3D BIM (Building Information Modeling) drawings. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in translating design concepts into accurate technical drawings, ensuring that all project specifications and standards are met.
The role will be based at the site of the new plant in India - TBC
Responsibilities
2D and 3D Drafting:Develop detailed 2D and 3D drawings for the food processing plant, including architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical components.Utilize CAD and BIM software to create accurate and detailed drawings that adhere to project specifications and standards.Ensure all drawings are precise and meet the quality and compliance requirements of the project.BIM Modeling:Create and manage 3D BIM models to support the design and construction phases of the project.Collaborate with external BIM Engineers and other team members to ensure the BIM model is up-to-date and reflects the latest design changes.Perform clash detection and resolve conflicts within the BIM model to ensure a smooth construction process.Collaboration and Coordination:Work closely with engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to understand design requirements and project objectives.Coordinate with the EPCM firm and other contractors to integrate their drawings and models with the overall project design.Ensure that all drawings and models from contractors are consistent and accurately reflect the project’s requirements.Participate in design review meetings and provide input on constructability and design improvements.Documentation and Standards:Maintain organized records of all drawings, models, and related documentation.Ensure all drawings and models adhere to relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations.Update and revise drawings and models as needed to reflect changes in design or construction.Quality Control:Conduct thorough reviews of drawings and models to ensure accuracy and completeness.Identify and correct any errors or inconsistencies in the drawings and models.Implement quality control procedures to maintain high standards of drafting work.Support and Training:Provide drafting support to other team members as needed.Assist in training junior engineers on CAD and BIM software and best practices.Stay updated with the latest advancements in drafting and BIM technology and methodologies.Accountabilities:
Accurate and timely creation and maintenance of 2D and 3D drawings and BIM models.Effective collaboration with the EPCM firm, contractors, and design and engineering teams.Adherence to project specifications, standards, and quality requirements.Maintenance of organized and up-to-date drafting and BIM documentation.
Qualifications:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Drafting, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.Minimum of 5 years of experience in drafting, with a focus on 2D and 3D drawings and BIM modeling.Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD) and BIM software (e.g. Navisworks).Strong understanding of architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical drafting principles.Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic project environment.Experience collaborating with EPCM firms and contractors is preferred.Certification in BIM (e.g., Autodesk Certified Professional) is a plus.
