Summary This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This position is for the St. Paul District. Responsibilities The incumbent will utilize a knowledge of dredge and vessel operations, management, and personnel management, and serve as Chief, Dredge Goetz Section. Supervise the activities of the regional asset Dredge Goetz and all associated plant and equipment assigned to the St. Paul District. Coordinate contacts with other Corps organizations and outside organizations such as the U.S. Coast Guard. Act as liaison between dredge personnel and other elements of the District. Review projects and dredging orders as prepared by Channels and Harbors Section of the St. Paul District or other servicing Districts. Responsible for the Dredge Goetz Section Safety Program. GS-13 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes meeting all of the following: 1) review project and/or dredging orders; 2) exercise responsibility for all aspects of floating plant operations; 3) manage revolving fund accounts and/or provide dredge cost estimates; 4) and utilize knowledge of dredge and/or operations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12) "Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify.
