Driller - Main
Carry out drilling operations as necessary in accordance with customer drilling program requirements and approved Noble policy and procedure. Operate/monitor rig drilling equipment and support systems under the direction of the Rig Manager. Perform/supervise drilling rig operations, maintenance, and housekeeping duties and material preservation activities as directed by customer requirements and Noble policy and procedure. Provide direct supervision of the drilling crew in support of ongoing operations. Ensure well control for ongoing drilling operations, maintaining safe operating conditions for company assets and safety of rig based personnel.

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or equivalent.3+ years of experience as an Assistant Driller and 1+ year of experience as a Driller - Aux.Completion of all training requirements for the position within designated time period.Valid IWCF Well Control Surface and Subsea, level 3 Certificate.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Proficient in office applications and other systems required for the position.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

         OPERATIONS

Safely and efficiently perform all duties assigned by the Rig Manager during drilling, work over and completion operations.Control actual drilling operations, depending on formations encountered, drilling efficiency, and problems encountered.Make trips as necessary to change bits, tools, and drill string length.Report any unusual occurrences encountered such as rate of penetration, mud weight, loss of circulation or other changes in hole condition to Rig Manager.Conduct regular shut-in drills with all members of the drill crew.  Be able to recognize pressure problems with the hole.  Know how to line up choke manifold and stand pipe.  Recognize kicks, shut the well in and circulate out.Responsible for slipping and cutting drill line.String up and string down the block.Assist service personnel and coordinate drill crew during operations.Maintain a continuous log on the well’s history which includes all equipment used in the well, number of drill pipe joints, special tools used, problems encountered, drilling rate and downtime.Maintain all paperwork required by Noble as well as government and operator requirements.Direct and supervise the drill crew depending on the operations being carried out.Continuously train and develop subordinate personnel through on-the-job training or other training as deemed necessary by Noble.Encourage appropriate professional development and training opportunities for employees.Carry out the Noble Leadership Model by Developing Yourself, Leading Your Team, Driving the Business, and Delivering Results.

         MAINTENANCE & REPAIR

Maintain good housekeeping on the drill floor at all times.Maintain upkeep of tongs, rotary, draw works and other drill floor accessory equipment.Maintain drill floor inventory control of chains, rope, and other rig supplies.Supervise the preventative maintenance program for drilling equipment and accessories on the rig floor including shale shakers, mud pumps, elevators, slips and other related equipment.

         HEALTH, SAFETY & ENVIRONMENTAL

Implement and uphold Noble's safety policies and procedures.Ensure that all operations proceed in a safe manner.  Correct and notify responsible parties of any unsafe acts and/or conditions which exist.Responsible for the drill crew working in a safe manner and with proper safety equipment.Encourage and motivate personnel to observe safety and environmental policies and all intended and implied requirements of Noble's Management System.Responsible for familiarizing and adhering to Noble's Live Safe Code for the purpose of promoting a zero-incident and no-harm workplace.Responsible for familiarizing and utilizing Noble's Hazard Identification Tool to manage risk created by various energy sources found in the workplace.Attend and actively participate in daily pre-tour and weekly safety meetings.Ensure compliance with the requirements established in Noble's Management System.Initiate a safety stand down whenever an unplanned hazard or change in the expected results is observed.Perform all Safety Critical Tasks as detailed in the HSE Case.Incorporate the STOP the job planning process into all tasks, whether working alone or as part of a team.Take the initiative to perform emergency duties without specific orders or instruction.Develop and implement Job Safety Analysis and prepare hazard assessments as required.Responsible for compliance with all government regulations.
