Drilling Technician (3 position available) Geostructural Technician (1 position available)TRAVEL & WORK LOCATION
These positions will require extensive overnight travel (approximately 90% - 100%) in Alabama, Georgia, and Mississippi each work week. Successful candidates will work a 10-hour/4-day schedule, Monday through Thursday with some occasional overtime work. Home office location: Logan Martin Geological Building - Vincent, Alabama Some relocation assistance may be available if the successful candidate does not already live within a reasonable commute distance.POSITION SUMMARY
The Civil Field Technician has a general responsibility for performance of fieldwork within the Civil Field Services Group of Environmental Solutions. Civil Field Services consists of three business units: Geostructural Services, Drilling Services and Survey & Mapping. The Civil Field Technician will work as a team member within the Drilling Services or Geostructural Services groups, as assigned.
Specific responsibilities could include any of the following:
Operation and maintenance of equipment such as geotechnical and environmental drilling equipment, concrete cutting equipment, grouting equipment, and chemical injection equipment Concrete and foundation repairs Ground modifications In-situ testing Perform underground utility locate services as needed Accurate recording and reporting of technical and administrative data Will provide work direction for contract workersPOSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Experience:
Experience in one (1) or more of the following areas is required: Performing and operating geotechnical and environmental drill rigs (e.g. CME 550X or 7822DT Geoprobe) Working with concrete coring, cutting or repair tools and techniques including thin-wall core drills, wire saws, caulking and coating applications Working with chemical and cementitious grouting projectsAdditional Requirements:
Valid driver’s license (required) DOT certification CDL (Required for Drilling Services Candidate; preferred for Geostructural Candidate) Physically able to perform manual labor or operate equipment as a member of a field crew Ability to communicate well with leadership, team members, and customers Thorough knowledge of safety procedures and technical guidelines associated with the work responsibilities included in this job posting Maintain appropriate administrative records such as timesheets, expense accounts, daily reports, field worksheets, job safety analysis, equipment inspection forms, etc. Ability to work consistently without direct supervisionBehavioral Attributes:
