Position Statement

 

The Driver takes responsibility for overall operations of company vehicles in delivering and retrieving of client’s assets like household goods, documents, and properties.

 

The Driver works closely with their Supervisor and might be involved in supervision of other drivers, company vehicles maintenance, and participate in different time slots when called upon

 

 

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

General Tasks

 

· Complete paperwork accurately and efficiently and submit to Operations office or others, as appropriate

· Ensure that all vehicle related reporting is completed in a timely manner

· Filling in vehicle daily or monthly report

· Drive defensively and handle all types of road conditions

· Conduct a daily general maintenance check of the truck and clean the vehicle

· Carry out basic vehicle maintenance

· Ensure safe delivery of goods

· Perform pre and mid trip vehicle and security inspections

· Provide high quality customer service.

· Estimate weight to comply with load limitations and ensure safe distribution of weight

· Ensure the load is correctly placed and secured to avoid any damage to the truck or goods

· Assist in unloading and loading of goods

· Contribute to a safe and healthy work environment by reporting all accidents, near misses and hazards, avoid unsafe practices at work.

 

Corporate Social Responsibility

 

· Support the company CSR commitment and goals.

· Utilising and encouraging environmentally sustainable practices, including:

- Recycling boxes and packaging materials wherever possible

- Reducing natural resource (water, energy, fuel, paper) whenever practical

 

Other

· Complete other duties as directed by the Operations / Warehouse Manager.

· Demonstrate and promote the company vision and values.

 

 

Aptitude, Knowledge and Qualifications

Aptitude

· Excellent communication skills.

· Ensure tasks are completed within timelines to a high degree of accuracy and professionalism.

· Solution oriented approach to problem solving and decision making.

 

 

 

 

Professional Knowledge and Skills

· Thorough understanding of and willingness to adhere to local road / traffic rules.

· Fluency in local language and English written language.

 

Qualifications

· Valid Drivers License

· At least 2 years Industry Experience

· At least 2 years experience in driving light goods, medium goods or heavy goods vehicles
