Job Summary:
The Driver is responsible for loading and unloading of cargo to the trucks, making deliveries and collections to the assigned locations.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
+ Safely operate vehicles, including Vans and trucks.
+ Transport cargo to specified locations in a timely manner.
+ Collection of cargo from customer
+ Handle cargo with care to avoid damage during transportation.
+ Follow assigned routes and adhere to traffic laws and regulations.
+ Return all delivery documents to the supervisor once delivery is completed.
+ Conduct regular vehicle inspections to ensure safety and functionality.
+ Keep the vehicle clean and well-maintained, reporting any issues to the supervisor.
+ Schedule and arrange for regular vehicle servicing and maintenance as assigned by the supervisor.
+ Maintain accurate records of journeys, including mileage, fuel consumption, and expenses.
+ Complete daily logs and vehicle inspection reports.
+ Report any accidents, incidents, or traffic violations to the supervisor immediately.
+ Comply with all local transportation laws and company policies.
+ Ensure all necessary licenses, permits, and certifications are up to date.
+ Assist in warehouse duties as required, picking and packing of cargo.
+ Ad hoc duties as assigned.
Required / Desired Knowledge, Experiences and Skills:
+ Proven experience as a driver.
+ knowledge of Singapore’s road networks and traffic laws
+ Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
+ Basic computer skills
+ Physical fit to pick and pack orders
+ Ability to read and write English
Education/Certifications:
+ Minimum of a secondary school education or equivalent.
+ Valid Singapore driving license appropriate for the vehicle type (Class 4 or 5)
+ Valid forklift license
Physical Working Environment:
+ The position requires exposure to the elements, the need to stand and walk for extended periods of time, ability to navigate the structures (such as vertical stairs, small spaces) typically found on cargo and cruise vessels
+ The position requires being able to lift and/or move boxes, jerry cans and drums, & cylinders weighing up to 100 lbs.
+ The position requires being able to safely operate a commercial vehicle in varied traffic and weather conditions.
