Founded in 1933, the IRC offers lifesaving care and life-changing assistance to refugees forced to flee from war or disaster. The IRC has been working in (JORDAN) since (2007). Project Background: The Early Grade Education Activity “named ASAS” is a five-year joint venture of the four National and International consortium partners including the International Research and Exchanges Board (IREX), the International Rescue Committee (IRC), Change Agent for Arab Development and Education Reform (CADER), School to School (StS), and Development Gate (DG). This activity is funded by United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The overarching goal of the project is to work at the national level to raise the standard of pre- and in-service teacher education and to enhance fundamental and socioemotional abilities in Kindergarten through Grade Three throughout the Kingdom of Jordan. ASAS seeks to strengthen the early-grade education system on several fronts through close collaboration with the Government of Jordan, including enhancing the standard of pre-service teacher education and in-service teacher professional development, enhancing the early-grade curriculum and teaching and learning materials (TLM) in addition to improving Community Engagement participation . Main role: The main role of the driver is to drive the Caravan working under ASAS project on different locations/areas based on defined schedule in collaboration with IRC’s partner. Responsibilities Specific responsibilities include: 1- The safe tr a nsp o rtation of ASAS pe r sonnel. 2- The safe tr a nsp o rtation of ASAS m a terials. 3- The care a n d m a intenance of IRC vehicles and their accessories. 4- The work will be needed (daily basis); it could be 2 days per week. 5- C ollaboration with partners and involvement in different directorates or areas. K e y C o mp e te nc ies: 1- Minimum t w o y e ars w ork as a p ro f essional driver. 2- No road safe t y -r elated fines or convictions t horo u gh kn o w l e dge of ro a d rules and regulations. 3- Skills in routine vehicle maintenance and minor re p air. 4- Kn o w ledge ( o r a bility to quick l y learn) of HF, V H F and satellite co m munications equipment. 5- Team spirit and problem -solving abilities. 6- Able to car r y out limited, unsupervised tasks. 7- Drivers must displ a y an attitude a nd behavior that reflects w ell on b oth themselves and the IRC. Expect e d Del i v e rables: 1- Strict adherence to the IRC’s vehicle policies and procedures, including t he use of seatbelts b y all passenge r s. 2- Daily and pre-lo n g distance vehic l e checks. Accurate upkeep of the vehicle’s log sheet. 3- Maintaining the vehicle clean, fueled and mechanically sound. 4- Inspecting and maintaining all vehicle accessories. 5- Advising the Transport manag e r of pending insp e c tions, insurance ren e w al o r a n y d efects or problems. Qualifications Qualifications: Mini m um R eq ui reme n ts: 1- Valid driving lic e nse grade 5. 2- Written and spoken English. 3- Able to pass IRC driving test.
