Day Services Driver- Day Habilitation Program Help Others to ASPIRE HIGHER! When a group of families came together in 1957 to find services for their children with developmental disabilities, ACLD was born. Today, we are a leading not-for-profit agency employing 1200+ staff and providing over 70 program sites in Nassau and Suffolk. We have great opportunities for positive, motivated individuals to work in a day hab setting assisting adults diagnosed with intellectual/developmental disabilities in becoming self-sufficient and self-actualized. Get in on the ground floor and train for an entry level career in the healthcare/education field! In this position, you will: + Provide transportation to and from the day program and assist the people we support in entering and exiting the vehicle. + Monitor all passengers during transit for the purpose of ensuring the safe transportation including monitoring the continued use of seatbelts. + Complete detailed, accurate documentation We require: + High School Diploma or equivalent. + Clean, valid NYS driver’s license + Minimum two (2) years driving experience. Some experience with developmentally disabled population preferred. + Complete (within six (6) months of hire) and maintain required training in SCIP (Strategies for Crisis Intervention and Prevention). + The ability to assist with lifting and transferring a person. + Must have flexibility to be reassigned to other programs and/or locations as needed. Schedule: Mon - Fri 8a - 10a and/or 2:30p - 4:30p Flexible with the number of days per week worked Some programs/locations may have a differential in addition to the hourly rate.
