Your impact as a Union Driver is vital. As a member of our Union courier team, you will support Vitalant’s life-saving mission by utilizing your communication and customer service skills to establish relationships with hospital staff while delivering and transporting blood and blood products. Additionally, you will actively participate in the set up and takedown of mobile blood drives.  

  

What to Expect 

 

Pay: $19.75 Hourly to start

Schedule:  Hours and Days Vary - Includes All Shifts - Two consecutive days off, but work days and shifts will fluctuate. Must have open availability.

As a Union Driver, you will get to:  

 Maintain a great rapport with hospitals that we service. Successfully deliver blood, supplies, equipment, or other blood products. Play an active part in the setup and takedown of mobile blood drives by loading and unloading blood drive supplies. Manage the safe handling, cleaning, and tracking of biowaste. Use exceptional problem-solving skills to manage weather-related driving issues as they arise.  Join the Teamsters 249 Union after 120-day introductory period. Must possess and maintain a valid Pennsylvania driver's license with clean driving record.Must be able to pass a DOT Physical, unless already possess DOT Medical Card (as well as maintain DOT requirements)Must be able to lift 50-75+ lbs, with the assistance of hand cart. Heavy lifting/loading/unloading is required.Must be able to work a flexible schedule, which may include all shifts.Must have or obtain PA Child Abuse and Federal Clearances within first 30 days of employment.Has at least 6 months customer service experience (required)Driving experience w/ company vehicle strongly preferred
