Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Plan transportation route by consulting road and city maps to ensure clearance and load limits of roads, bridges and overhead obstructions.

Drives van to destination.

Wraps furniture with blankets to prevent damage. Seals containers or materials using

proper and adequate products or materials.

Wraps fragile items in packing paper and packs them into containers.

Loads and unloads truck, using dollies and hand truck, distributing weight evenly,

forming compact load, and utilizing space.

Marks and labels containers or furniture using marking instruments and labels according to company/contract specifications.

Examines and inspects containers, materials, and household goods to ensure packaging process meets specifications.

Records contents and packaging information on specified forms and inventories.

Obtains customers signature for services.

Removes and places completed containers on moving equipment or specified areas.

Gives directions to van driver helpers.

Cleans work area and company vehicle at the end of each shift.

Services vehicle with fuel, lubricants, and accessories. Performs daily vehicle

inspections according to company specifications.

Perform other duties when not driving such as custodial and building maintenance tasks.

Must have a valid State issued Driver's License.

Knowledge of packing materials, waste, quality control and techniques for maximizing the safe transport and distribution of customers' household goods.

Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Knowledge of arithmetic, including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.

The able to access all military facilities.

The ability to quickly and repeatedly make precise adjustments in moving the controls of a machine or vehicle to exact positions.

The ability to correctly follow a given rule or set of rules in order to arrange things or actions in a certain order.

The ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects that are at least 51 lbs.

The ability to access all military facilities.
