As the Driver Fitness Program Coordinator, you will oversee the Driver Fitness Services team, which is responsible for evaluating physical, mental, and medical factors affecting driver eligibility. You will lead both state and county staff in ensuring the consistent delivery of this vital program while maintaining compliance with federal and state laws. Building strong relationships and developing training programs with agencies and organizations statewide and nationally will be key to your success in this role. What You’ll Do: + Lead the Driver Fitness Services team:Direct daily operations, manage workflows, and spearhead process improvements to enhance program effectiveness. + Oversee complex cases:Provide direct management of high-level and escalated Driver Fitness cases, ensuring timely and fair resolutions. + Refine policies and procedures:Regularly review and update program guidelines to maintain compliance with evolving federal and state laws, administrative rules, and internal standards. + Analyze and optimize operations:Use data-driven insights to identify opportunities for improving efficiency and customer experiences. + Develop and deliver training:Create and implement comprehensive training programs to ensure state-wide consistency and adherence to best practices. + Collaborate with stakeholders:Serve as a key liaison with internal bureaus, county staff, the State Medical Advisory Board, and national organizations such as the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) , Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) , and American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators (AAMVA) . Minimum Qualification Requirements Applicants must meet at least one of the following minimum requirements to qualify for positions in this job classification: 1) Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in any field, and experience equal to four years of full-time professional-level work in program administration, program development, program operations , or management. 2) A total of eight years of education and/or full-time experience (as described in number one), where thirty semester hours of accredited college or university course work in any field equals one year of full-time experience. 3) All of the following (a, b, and c): a. Two years of full-time professional-level work experience in program administration, program development, program operations , or management; and b.
