Major Goal: The Mover/Helper is a crew member not in a lead position. They may assist with loading, unloading, internal moving, packing, unpacking, and warehouse work. The Mover/Helper assists with operational production functions under the supervision of the Crew Leader. Operational production functions include loading vehicles and containers, unloading vehicles and containers, packing and shipment preparation, unpacking, warehouse handling, and internal moving and installation performed in O & I relocations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist with the residence and facility protection processesProtectively pad and wrap items for loading in vehicles and containersCarry or dolly items to and from vehicles and containers as directed by the Crew LeaderAssist with stacking and unstacking items in vehicles and containers as directed by the Crew LeaderAssemble cartons and other packing materialsPack items into cartons as directed by the Crew LeaderUnpack items from cartons and place items as defined in the unpacking servicesCarry or dolly items within facilities as required on O & I movesAssist with assembly and disassembly of furniture and fixtures as directed by the Crew LeaderAssist the Crew Leader with other functions as needed

Education/Experience:

High school or G.E.D. degree; Previous experience working as a mover is preferred. or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Ability:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Math Ability:

Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, ability to learn and effectively use move management software, timekeeping and other software applications used in the daily performance of job duties.
