Title: Driver Manager

Location: Spanaway, Washington

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Driver Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of our fleet ambassadors. Your primary focus will be optimizing fleet assets and ensuring the performance of our ambassadors.

What will you do?

Manage and optimize tractor and trailer utilization to maximize efficiency and productivity.

Assign new hires to appropriate routes and provide necessary support and training.

Address and resolve payroll, time off requests, and driver utilization concerns.

Review and approve timecards, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

Handle and resolve customer complaints in a professional and timely manner.

Conduct interviews and make hiring decisions based on company standards and requirements.

Coordinate com-checks, and hotel stays, and ensure load quality meets company standards.

Conduct yard and cab audits to ensure safety, cleanliness, and compliance.

Coordinate random drug and alcohol testing as required by regulations.

Actively managing and addressing performance concerns with ambassadors, providing feedback, coaching, and support as needed.

Continuously recommend, develop, implement, and drive improvements to enhance systems, processes, methods, and resource utilization.

Proactively address driver concerns and issues, ensuring timely resolution.

Qualifications:

Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in the transportation or logistics industry.

Strong knowledge and understanding of fleet operations, tractor and trailer utilization, and driver management.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with the leadership team, staff from other departments, customers, and carriers.

Proven ability to manage and resolve conflicts and customer complaints professionally.

Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Familiarity with DOT regulations and compliance requirements.

Proficient in using computer systems and software for record-keeping and analysis.

Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.

A valid driver's license and a clean driving record.

Compensation: Annual Salary $49,624- $65,000. Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors. 

Profit sharing is available to eligible employees; this discretionary program is dependent on the profitability of the company. 

Benefits: When you join our family, you are eligible to participate in our comprehensive benefits programs which includes Health, Dental, Vision, Life/Disability, Flexible Spending Accounts, 401(k), Paid Holidays, 80 hours paid vacation and accrual Washington paid sick leave 1 hour for every 40 hours worked up to 52 hours.
