The Long-Haul division headquartered in Ayr, Ontario specializes in the hauling and transportation of waste from transfer stations to their final destination of the landfills. We are currently seeking a Driver Trainer join our growing team.

Key Responsibilities:
Conduct evaluations for current drivers as required
Hands-on driver trip Inspection training
Coordinating and conducting training violations and providing appropriate training
Ensures drivers have the necessary safety equipment ( boots, vest, gloves, etc.)
Assist with Incident fact findings and conduct accident investigation when applicable
Facilitate in regular safety meetings
Yard checks for hazards
Mentoring new employees and owner operators
Prepare reports
Job Task Observations
Communicating changes to safety policies and procedures
Monitoring and addressing Hours of Service
Other tasks as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Competencies:
Skilled communicator with strong interpersonal skills at all levels in the company
Strong coach and mentor to provide support and guidance encouraging them to be their best. Being able to identify positive behaviours and provide respectful, constructive feedback on performance concerns
Knowledge of industry laws and regulations - Hours of service
Identifies and resolves problems proactively and in a timely manner
Look for ways to improve and promote safety proactively
Ability to effectively train others and see themselves as responsible for the safety performance of those they have trained
Flexibility due to working in different shifts
Knowledgeable in the MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Hold Safety certification is an asset
