JOB DESCRIPTION:
As a Senior Design Engineer, you are responsible for delivering casting and structure component solution for torque converter, transmission, axle to support NPI, cost reduction, etc. This include but not limited to lead component engineers deliver the component design and development solution, explore the innovative solution suitable for specific product requirement and supply base. You will broadly work w/ cross function team, including Drivetrain system engineering team, NPI team, purchasing team, receiving facility quality team, supply chain team, supplier, etc. to ensure goals are achieved.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead Construction Industry related component projects, include but not limited to lead the component engineers to deliver components solution to satisfy system and machine team expectation, play a major role to interface with internal client and business partner, timely gather and respond to client feedback, guide component engineers focus and prioritize towards meeting client’s business need, manage project budgetExplore and apply new technology, design new component, improve manufacturing processes, document and promote team best practice, etc. Demonstrate strong customer focus to meet customer needs from PQVCLead casting and structure component design, including but not limited to collect VOC, discuss and align requirements, 3D modeling, structure FEA analysis, design verification, 2D drawing, field follow, tear down, OMSA, failure analysis, etc.Lead casting and structure component development, include but not limited to work w/ purchasing on quote and review, comprehensively assess the supply base and propose supplier, APQP, proceed Gateway review for sourcing decision, lead the development and validation, review PPAP, etc.Provide engineering support to drivetrain casting & structure component resourcing and developmentClosely work with global cross function team, including but not limited to Drivetrain system engineering team, NPI team, global engineering experts, purchasing team, receiving facility quality team, receiving facility manufacturing team, supply chain team, supplier, etc. to deliver qualified drivetrain components for the broad machine productsThe job involve global team night meeting and 10%-25% travel based on project needREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor or Master in Mechanical Engineering/Material Processing Engineering or related engineering major8 years + working experience on mechanical design and casting/forging part developmentFamiliar with mechanical component design, such as FMEA, 3D modeling, structure FEA analysis, design verification, 2D drawing, OMSA, failure analysis, etc.Good project management and risk management skillCreative, strong intellectual curiosity, keep interest in continuous learn & improve, take challengeStrong initiative and proactively planningStrong presentation skillGood written and verbal English communication skillsGood interpersonal communication and collaboration skillGood Cero or similar CAD software experiencesDESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Casting & Structure design background in construction/mining/energy/transportation machineryDrivetrain system and related components design and manufacturing experiences, especially for casting and structure componentGood knowledge of drivetrain system include torque converter, transmission and axle, etc.Good manufacturing knowledge and experience on foundry, forging, HT, machining, inspectionPosting Dates:
