Drug & Alcohol Coordinator

Orlando, FL (Hybrid)

Position Summary

Thales is looking for a Drug & Alcohol Coordinator who is primarily responsible for the management and compliance of Thales’ Drug and Alcohol Program at multiple Thales and Vendor sites.  In this role, you will act as company DER (Designated Employer Representative), main point of contact with the DOT (Department of Transportation), as well as the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) in regards to Drug and Alcohol Program compliance. You will provide regulatory guidance, interpretation, and training to company personnel as required.

In this position, you will also assist with AGS (Aviation Global Services) Orlando QMS (Quality Management System) administration, auditing, and projects associated with achieving the Quality Objectives for the site.

Key Areas of Responsibility

Develops and manages the Drug & Alcohol DOT/non-DOT programs for Thales AGS Repair Stations, Line Stations, and non-certificated Vendors as required.Acts as the Drug and Alcohol program DER (Designated Employer Representative) and the main point of contact with DOT and FAA Drug Abatement office; Responsible to receive all Drug and Alcohol program test results.Leads and supports DOT and FAA audits/investigations; Enforces Drug and Alcohol program policies, while exercising authority to respond to policy violations according to company guidelines, and in conjunction with HR.Responsible for maintaining knowledge of all applicable Drug and Alcohol program regulations and requirements; Responsible for development and delivery of Drug and Alcohol program training to company employees and leaders.Audits Collection sites and DOT staffing vendors to DOT/FAA regulatory standards; Review and approve WFQA testing invoices for Thales accounts payable team; Assist with QMS (Quality Management System) document control and development activities.Assist with Supplier certification activities; Assist with Internal Auditing activities; Achieve Internal Auditor certification; Manage Quality purchasing activities.

Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma or GED.Must have working knowledge of Drug and Alcohol regulations and program requirements; Minimum one year of experience as a DER; Ability to study, interpret, and apply applicable regulatory requirements.Strong interpersonal, leadership and management skills including the ability to motivate others; Ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision.Strong communication skills, both oral and written; Ability to manage multiple assignments; Effective time management and prioritization skills; Strong problem solving and structured thinking skills.Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and efficiency; Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OutlookKnowledge of ISO 9001 and AS9100 standards

Special Position Requirements

Schedule: 9AM-5PM Monday through Friday.Physical Demands: No weight above 25 lbs. required to be lifted.Physical Environment: Typical office environment. Requires access to: Repair Shop and Warehouse.Travel: Occasional domestic travel required to audit Collection sites and DOT staffing vendors.Regulatory Compliance Requirements: Pre-Employment Drug Screening.
