About the Function

Our Supply Chain and Manufacturing team are problem-solvers, sourcing, producing, and delivering our much-loved brands to delight customers around the globe. Over half of Diageo’s 30,000+ people work in Supply Chain and Manufacturing. About the Role

This role is responsible for ensuring service continuity of glass to production sites and the inventory management of dry goods in TPO (Third Party Operations) managed across GBS Scotland. This is delivered via the management of a team of varying roles to drive efficient logistics of glass and dry goods to support Diageo manufacturing in Scotland in a safe, cost effective and compliant manner.

Managing service provided by various 3PL partners is paramount, with an equally high focus on productivity and continuous improvement.

Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

Line Management and Development: Manage and develop a team of four people covering international and domestic glass and third-party dry goods inventory.

Performance Management: Oversee third-party logistics providers for transport and warehousing of glass across the UK network, and dry goods across TPO sites. Manage ocean freight shipping lines for material imports.

Productivity Agendas: Drive continuous improvement of supply performance across both glass and dry goods movements.

Cost Control: Control, validate, and process glass logistics costs. Ensure spend is accounted for, identify reduction opportunities, and implement them to support the monthly finance BPM rhythm.

Forecasting & Planning: Work with planning and glass MSM to provide tactical 3PL forecasts. Build storage projections within the materials S&OP cycle to ensure logistics demand is within committed capacities.

Inventory Management: Support business aspirations on cash by managing warehouse inventory effectively. Ensure FIFO principles are adhered to.

Governance & Controls: Apply appropriate levels of governance and controls across glass and dry goods managed operations in alignment with Diageo’s compliance requirements (CARM).

Process Management: Manage key processes ensuring they align with both Diageo's standards and external compliance requirements.

Stakeholder Management: Engage with key senior stakeholders across the business including planning teams, 3PL partners, glass suppliers, on-site logistics, production, and site quality teams.

Skills and Experience Required:

have experience leading and developing a team

have experience in logistics, transport and warehouse operations

have successfully managed supplier performance

have the ability to build excellent and successful working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders

have an understanding of Opex structure and principles

ideally have experience of the Scotland network and strong understanding of the end-to-end supply chain. Exposure to ocean freight and imports would be beneficial

be proficient in problem solving and establishing long term fixes. RCPS tools (i.e. Six Sigma yellow belt) would be preferred

be open to change and be resilient and agile in the face of change

be able to prioritise effectively
