Job Description

Onin Staffing is hiring for a Dryer Operator at a peanut plant in Edenton, NC. The Dryer Operator is responsible for overseeing the operation of a machine that dries harvested peanuts to the proper moisture content, monitoring the drying process through gauges and controls, making adjustments as needed, ensuring quality standards are met, and performing routine maintenance on the equipment while adhering to safety protocols.

Work Experience

Required skills and knowledge:

Basic understanding of agricultural processes, particularly peanut harvesting and drying Ability to read and interpret gauges, control panels, and operating instructions Mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting basic machine issues and performing minor repairs Attention to detail to ensure consistent quality standards and accurate data recording Ability to work independently and follow established procedures 

Work environment:

Primarily in a food processing facility, often in a dusty and noisy environment Exposure to heat and humidity, especially during the drying process Facility is not climate-controlledMay require lifting and moving heavy loads of peanutsFloor can sometimes be slippery
