We are currently seeking a skilled DS Shop Manager to join our Boart Longyear team in West Valley, Utah. The Drilling Services Shop Manager oversees the daily shop operations, focusing on efficient workflow, safety compliance, and effective personnel and resource management. This role coordinates maintenance, repairs, and supporting field operations to ensure all work meets safety and quality standards. **Responsibilities** + Oversees day-to-day shop operations – including planning, scheduling, coordinating repair and maintenance activities + Manages and trains shop personnel, including mechanics and technicians, to ensure adherence to safety and performance standards + Promotes and enforces a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations + Monitors and manages shop expenses, identifying cost-saving opportunities through process improvements + Maintains accurate records of maintenance, repairs, inventory, and personnel activities + Serves as a liaison between the shop, operations, and supply chain team to ensure effective communication and support for field operations **Minimum Qualifications** + HS Diploma or equivalent required + AS or BS in Engineering, industrial management, or related field preferred + Minimum of 5 years experience in a shop or field maintenance environment, preferably in drilling, mining, or heavy equipment + At least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role overseeing shop operations + Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems for drilling and heavy equipment + Proficiency with shop management software, inventory management systems, and Microsoft Office Suite + Excellent leadership and team management skills with focus on safety + Proven ability to delegate and empower team to accomplish tasks and goals + Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail + Effective communication and ability to collaborate in a fast-paced environment + Relevant technical certifications + May require occasional travel to job sites **Compensation, Benefits and Perks** Talented people are attracted to companies with long-term success and a supportive workplace culture that encourages work-life balance.
