Job Description
The Direct Store Delivery (DSD) Planner is responsible for ensuring that daily routing for all distribution types is accurate, timely, and achieves optimal cost parameters. The DSD Planner must ensure optimum productivity, service levels, and revenue while simultaneously understanding and meeting the needs of our customers and delivery drivers. In this role, the DSD Planner will be relied upon to provide superior customer service and to drive positive business results through collaboration with business partners and consistent and successful execution of all planning processes.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
+ Ensure data integrity, planning session quality, and process compliance; provide effective and efficient distribution planning
+ Work with Sales Center (SC) management teams to ensure accurate and timely dispatch for all distribution operations across the operating unit
+ Collaborate with SC management teams to ensure the lowest cost delivery solution is used in every applicable situation
+ Utilize LEO Planning Software to identify and provide the lowest cost delivery and loading solutions
+ Actively participate in the development, implementation, and validation of standard processes
+ Provide daily communication on routing, labor and equipment needs based on volume, workload, time, cubes, weight, etc.
Job Requirements
+ High school diploma, GED or equivalent required
+ Bachelor’s degree in Production, Operations Management, Logistics, Supply Chain or related discipline preferred
+ 2+ years of LEO Planning & Analytical experience required
+ Ability to communicate effectively
+ Experience with database applications preferred
+ Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management
+ Willing to work a flexible schedule and possible weekends based on business needs
