We have openings at IRAs all across St. Lawrence County for individuals with a positive attitude and communication skills who will provide direct support services to adults with developmental disabilities and help them live independent and meaningful lives within the community.

While a driver’s license is preferred, it is not required.

The primary role of a DSP is to promote skills development and act as a role model, inspiring involvement and participation in recreational, community and/or social activities.

A typical day for a DSP may include assistance with personal care, interactions and daily activities such as travel to medical appointments, concerts, sporting, or other community events.

MDSPs also assist with the administration of medication.

For MDSPs working at least 24 hours per week, salaries begin at $19 per hour, based on experience and credentials. More can be earned through shift differentials.

The starting wage for DSPs is $16.48 per hour.
