We are looking for a strong generalist with a mobile or computer systems background, an understanding of both hardware and software, and the ability to weigh trade-offs between the different disciplines involved in the system. This position requires strong communication, persuasion, and negotiation skills. As a member of our Audio Architecture team, you will be responsible for the support of the full programming and debugging toolchain to develop audio applications. These software tools are used internal to Apple for product development, simulation and SoC bringup.DescriptionDescription- You will support software teams in porting applications to Audio DSP cores and Hardware teams in sizing and integrating DSP cores into SoCs. - You will own the definition and creation of the test rigs to run audio applications in a bare metal environment. - You will participate in code reviews of the of the architecture for audio processors. - Applicant should be able to cross the hardware/software boundary and work in C/C++, Verilog, MATLAB, and Schematics. - Maintain/enhance existing software. - Support application teams in their use of the processors and their programming environment - Debug and resolve real time application issues on devices - Consult with SoC teams integrating the audio cores - Support the bring up, testing, and power measurement of audio cores in Apple SoCsMinimum QualificationsMinimum QualificationsMS/PhD in Computer Science or Electrical/Computer Engineering or equivalent experience.Strong C/C++ programming skills with background in algorithms and data structuresStrong affinity with audioExperience in digital audio signal processingGraduate level courses/equivalent work in computer architectureGeneral understanding of circuit timingKey QualificationsKey QualificationsPreferred QualificationsPreferred QualificationsExperience in a technical support role is a plusKnowledge of compilers is a plusExperience with extending IDEs is a plusEducation & ExperienceEducation & ExperienceAdditional RequirementsAdditional RequirementsPay & BenefitsPay & BenefitsAt Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 and $214,500, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
