In this pivotal role, the Technical Trainer will be responsible for delivering engaging and impactful training sessions, as well as coordinating with various stakeholders across the business to encourage continued growth and upward mobility of Project Assessors (PAs). Their mission: To transform complex technical concepts into easily digestible, actionable insights that inspire and motivate our PAs and encourage collaboration at all levels of our business model.

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other job-related duties may be assigned in conformance with state and federal regulations.

 

Core:

1. Counsel with Divisional Directors and PA managers to strategically plan for leveling up current PAs to meet ongoing and/or anticipated capacity needs for the business.

2. Create focused curriculums and pathways for PAs to level up and gain relevant qualifications based on their desired career path and business needs.

3. Organize, schedule and conduct technical training of PAs, and then follow up with PA Manager(s) regarding PA progress in performance/comprehension of training material.

4. Assigns specific training modules that are respective to identified PA needs.

5. As PAs obtain relevant qualifications and training, the technical trainer will ensure all PAs (full-time, part-time, per project, and Alliance Partner) have their qualifications updated in their HR profile and SAM App through prompt communication to PA Managers and Divisional Directors.

6. Will ensure trained materials are reinforced through relevant field experience by coordinating shadow opportunities for recently trained PAs via communication and collaboration with RSS and PA Managers.

7. Hosts monthly toolbox talks that include Safety Spotlights for PAs and cover topics relevant to the business. Meetings should be recorded and archived for those in the field and ease of future reference.

 

 

Divisional/Role Specific:

 

TRX:

1. Can lead training for Level 1 and 2 TRX reports.

2. Coordinate 1:1 shadow opportunities with WolfPack, TRX PA TLs, TRRs, SECs, and at-level PAs (with approval from Director) so that PAs have exposure to all levels of the business model, and comprehensive exposure to various technical roles and perspectives.

3. Instructs and provides direction to PAs and other technical field teams (i.e. Wolfpack) in the use and application of BV data collection and report writing software in accordance with client-specific protocol checklist requirements.

4. Conduct random and periodic QA/QC reviews of PA reports with feedback to TRR/SEC, PA, and respective PA Team Lead(s) on findings.

5. Monthly development and distribution of Technical Playbooks for TRX.

6. Continued development, refining, and regular updates of training modules and training resources (etc. Playbooks, training videos, Toolbox talks, etc.).

 

Additional responsibilities include:

· Protects operations by keeping company information confidential.

· Delivers outstanding customer service through timely response and proactive solutions to clients needs.

· Demonstrates BV's guiding principles in support of the company's strategic goals.

· Follows all documented policies, Standard Operating Procedures, and Work Instructions applicable to the position and support of BV's quality standards.

· Maintains safe and clean work area by complying with all procedures, rules, and regulations.

· Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.

· Ability to successfully work from remote location.

· Ability to use and skillfully operate a computer is essential to this position.

 

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

TRX Division:

Indirectly supervises employees. Carries out indirect supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education and/or Experience:

TRX Division: Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university in related field (i.e. Environmental Science or Engineering); minimum of five (5) years of related experience performing transactional due diligence reports (i.e. Phase I/PCA). In lieu of degree, six years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. In addition, at least three (3) years’ experience with project and staff management is preferred.

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

TRX Division: Current professional registration as EP (Environmental Professional), PE (Professional Engineer) and or RA (Registered Architect) preferred; valid driver's license; personal credit sufficient to charge business travel expenses up to $3,000.

 

Language Ability: Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and standard operating procedures. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from peers and technical field staff.

 

Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

 

Technology Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be proficient in operating a computer, having knowledge of word processing software, spreadsheet software, and project management software.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Other Abilities:

· Must be passionate about people, teamwork and operational excellence – optimizing the effectiveness, efficiency, and satisfaction of our project management team, the quality of our execution, and the experience of working for and with BV.

· Knowledgeable about BV’s processes and about the technical and report requirements.

· Must be dedicated to being a good trainer and a proactive communicator, utilizing objective data, observations and feedback to provide all PAs with a fair assessment of their comprehension and development through training, and understanding their needs and expectations with respect to BV.

· Must have the ability to travel 25% of the time to sites across the U.S. via plane or driving, specific to conducting or shadowing on-sites, doing training, gathering feedback, etc. As a general expectation, for approximately 2 to 3 days of the workweek, travel and onsite work is anticipated and expected. Overnight stays away from home may be required.

· Must have a cell phone and supply your own internet service.
