Job Summary:

Serves as a positive link between referral sources and DME to provide DME needs to patients. Manages general intake for referrals for DME and responds to phone calls. Assists Manager or Supervisor to ensure Customer Service & Delivery staff is performing duties effectively and efficiently.

Essential Functions:

Communicates and coordinates with referral sources for DME referrals. Facilitates delivery of DME to patients.

Works with referral sources and case management so discharges go smooth for patient satisfaction.

Communicates with departments about orders and documentation errors. Communicates observations, facts, and comments with interdisciplinary team members, individually and through team meeting presentations as is appropriate.

Processes orders received accordingly to policy and procedures and within designated time period.

Provides and instructs clients in the installation and operation of equipment provided by DME.

Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, workshops and in-service meetings.

Complies with applicable Food & Drug Administration, Department of Transportation, and Public Utilities Commission requirements in performing job duties that require the use of home oxygen and other hazardous materials.

Maintains knowledge of products and services available through the department and can communicate.

Education:

High School/GED (required)

Experience:

Experience working with durable medical equipment (DME) (preferred)

Skills & Abilities:

Strong interpersonal skills and able to effectively interact with patients, their families, physicians, and other staff members

Able to effectively work with diverse people

Able to keep accurate records and inventories of supplies
