Duty Engineer

POSITION SUMMARY: 

In accordance with the policies, procedures and standards of Melco Resorts Leisure (PHP) Corporation, the Duty Engineer (Electrical, Mechanical, Kitchen and Laundry) shall support the Manager, Engineering in executing his duties. He shall also focus on providing guest satisfaction, fulfillment of team goals and in collaborating with all relevant Departments to provide seamless and efficient service and to upkeep related Key Performance Indicator (KPI) for assigned duty. The position further informs the Manager, Engineering or ESM of any concerns impacting on his ability to successfully discharge his duties.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.    Supports the Manager, Engineering in preparing the annual Engineering Budget.
2.    Ensures he is thoroughly conversant with all technical aspects of the systems for which he is responsible.
3.    Implements all relevant SOP’s. Recommends additional SOP’s or improvements where perceived necessary.
4.    Coordinates with other Duty Engineers to ensure unified operation between teams.
5.    Implements directives as mandated by the Manager, Engineering and keeps all relevant parties informed of actions taken.
6.    Actively supports the Manager, Engineering in the process of minimizing wastage of electricity, water and other resources.
7.    Executes management policies, assists the Manager, Engineering where required in recommending to hire, to transfer, to suspend, to lay-off, to recall, to discharge, re-assign or discipline employees.
8.    Ensures staffs have complete understanding of the company policies, procedures and particularly those related to fire and life safety, hygiene and health. Enforces strict compliance with these requirements.
9.    Actively supports the Manager, Engineering on the Operations training program coordinated with the training of the other Engineering Departments as well as the other divisions.
10.    Prepares timely reports in accordance with the approved scope and format affecting the activities for each certain department’s efficiencies, costs and the likes.
11.    Maintains confidentiality related to the Operations of the department activities, operating incidents as may occur as well as any other information which may be regarded as confidential by nature in the discretion of his Manager, Engineering.
12.    Reports accident, injuries and unsafe work conditions to Superiors.

13.    Performs other tasks and responsibilities as may be assigned by Management or Immediate Superior(s) from time to time.

QUALIFICATIONS:

I.    Experience

1.    Minimum of seven (7) years of work experience in the hotel or entertainment industry, hospitals or large commercial buildings such as shopping malls and the like.
2.    Experience should be in the capacity of Senior Supervisor or in similar levels of responsibility.
3.    Experience in Engineering Budget Forecast and Budget Control.

II.    Education 

Preferably with a Degree or Advances Diploma and a Registered License Holder in his Engineering Field.


III.    Skills / Competencies 

1.    Good command in both written and spoken English.
2.    Good working knowledge in PC skills and use of all MS Office applications, including Outlook.
3.    Excellent technical knowledge in either Mechanical or Electrical Engineering related to building services for hotels.
4.    Good knowledge of all other building services used in 5-star hotels including audio visual systems, security systems and the like.
5.    Good leadership and able to make sound decision and perform other duties as and when required very last minute and at time of emergency.
6.    Good problem-solving skills, hands on approach with attention to detail.
