Duty Engineer

1.Ensures safe and continuous operation of all systems in the Hotel at alltimes, i.e., power, water, sewerage, air conditioning, steam, etc.

2.Immediately reports any discrepancies to the Guest Support Manager, or inthe absence of Guest support Manager, to the Director of Engineering.

3.Ensure good housekeeping and orderliness of all working area of theEngineering Department.

4.Receive repair works in his shift to be done by M.R. form or bytelephone call and rectify as soon as possible if the job cannot be done orfinished within his time schedule, M.R.must be transferred to the next shiftfor completion or rectification. Heavy works must be transferred to repair andmaintenance group through M.R.

5.Conduct periodic test and inspection of safety equipment and alarmsystem with the Section Head.

6.Respond to emergency call and leads emergency brigade to containsituation.

7.Plans, organizes, directs, controls and supervises the works of hissubordinates in his shift, ensuring that they are carrying out the basicfunctions of their positions.

8.Report to the Assistant Director of Engineering / Director ofEngineering any unusual occurrences with respect to equipment and personnel.

9.Perform other duties that may be assigned by the Director ofEngineering/ Assistant Director of Engineering.

10.Ensures that Engineering staff adhere to the rules and regulations ofthe Hotel by :

Familiarizing self with rules, Communicating rules/standards ,Monitoringimplementation of rules/standards

Effecting coaching/counselling and ,if needed, disciplinary procedureswhen rules/standards are violated.

11.Conducts regular briefing with staff in his shift

12.Ensure that all management directives are communicated to the Engineeringstaff in a timely manner.

13.Oversee maintenance and handling of equipment used.

14.Ensure timely reporting of malfunction or maintenance deficiencies toappropriate area.

15.Attend scheduled trainings.

16.Ensures that Departmental Management is kept abreast of all problems,occurrences and challenges that my cause interference, lack of performance,unsightly activities etc.

17.Performs emergency procedures relating to fire, life and safety; e.g.,such as attending to fire alarms, lift rescue

18.Ensure timely completion of work orders and preventive maintenance tasks

19.Ensure effective service recovery pertaining to guests’ feedback
