DV Coordinated Entry Specialist

1. Purpose of Position\n

Provides a wide range of domestic violence advocacy services and housing assistance through access to the Coordinated Entry system for a diverse population of survivors of intimate partner violence.\n
\n

2. Essential Duties and Responsibilities\n

Coordinated Entry and Case Management(Reports to DV Coordinated Entry Supervisor)\n\nConduct domestic violence specific Coordinated Entry assessments (also known as Diversion conversations) with shelter residents and non-residential clients who meet the HUD definition for category 4 homelessness: fleeing or attempting to flee domestic violence, lacks another safe residence, and lacks other resources;\nComplete all necessary initial and ongoing training requirements for CE deputation, including HMIS trainings, shadows, and Diversion refresher courses;\nComplete all required initial and ongoing trainings to become certified as a domestic violence victims advocate;\nEnter client's information into the HMIS database and collaborate with other Coordinated Entry providers in order to ensure clients have equitable access to housing services;\nProvide light-touch housing case management, assist with housing applications, and support with move-in costs, as approved by the KWA Housing Supervisor.\nAttend staff meetings as required;\nDevelop community partnerships to increase collaboration and success for DV coordinated entry clients;\nPerform other duties as assigned for the betterment of the KWA Victim and Homeless Services Program.\n\n

3. Position Requirements, Competencies, and Qualifications\n\nSatisfactorily pass criminal history & reference checks.\nProficient in MS Office Suite, e.g. Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.\nKnowledge of, and compassion and sensitivity to, domestic violence, elder abuse and neglect, and sexual abuse.\nKnowledge and practical use of trauma-informed care and services.\nValid WA driver's license and automobile insurance in good standing.\nStrong project management skills, ability to multi-task, and ability to manage competing deadlines.\nAbility to maintain effective relationships with staff, volunteers, community and national partners.\nMust have excellent interpersonal, communication, time management, problem-solving & organizational skills.\nAbility to maintain confidentiality.\nAbility to work with people of diversity. \nAbility to speak in front of small and large groups of people.\nAbility to read, write, speak and understand English.\n\n
\n

3.1 Educational Level\n\nMust have High School Diploma; and\nSome college or AA degree (any humanities discipline) preferred.\n\n
\n

3.2 Experience in Related Field\n\nMinimum of one (1) year experience in social or human services preferred; and\nPublic Speaking Skills preferred.\n\n
\n

4. Working Conditions\n\nEnvironmental parameters: \n\n

a. Ability to work in a domestic violence shelter environment;\n

b. Ability to stand with clients in meetings or court hearings; and\n

c. Ability to drive to different locations.\n

2. Physical demands:\n

a.Type: sedentary work ability to perform administrative duties, typing, filing, bending over to low files, reaching high files; sitting and traveling by car to outreach locations.\n

b. Ability to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and\/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move an object (e.g., outreach materials).\n

c. Work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking, standing, bending, reaching, twisting and driving.\n
\n

5. Work Schedule\n\nAbility to work 40 hour week and on call when necessary. May be assigned to work weekends or evening shifts.\n\n
\n

\n\nMANUAL\nMotor Coordination:\nAbility to accurately reach, feel or handle equipment used in daily routine.\nFinger dexterity:\nAbility to pick, pinch or otherwise work with fingers to operate above equipment.\nManual dexterity:\nAbility to seize, hold, grasp, turn or otherwise work with hands to operate above equipment.\n\n
\n\nVISUAL\nNear Vision:\nClarity of vision at 20 inches or less.\nMid-range Vision:\nClarity of vision at distance of more than 20 inches and less than 20 feet.\nFar-range Vision:\nClarity of vision at 20 feet or more.\n\n
