Ford Model E is responsible for developing the key technologies and capabilities – such as EV platforms, batteries, e-motors, inverters, charging and recycling – to create ground-up, breakthrough electric vehicles. As a member of the Ford Advance EV team, you will collaborate closely with various cross-functional teams including but not limited to the Design Studio, product engineering, manufacturing quality & operations teams to set and achieve meticulous quality standards for our vehicles. From the conceptual stage to production, your expertise will be integral in delivering a flawless experience to our customers.
The minimum requirements we seek:
Minimum of 7 years of experience in automotive Dimensional Engineering. Minimum of 7 years of experience in 3D statistical tolerance analysis using 3DCS. Record of contributing to continuous improvement initiatives related to dimensional quality and process optimization. In-depth knowledge of ASME Y14.5M-2009, ASME GD&T Certification preferred. Knowledge of Production & Quality Control in manufacturing. Strong numeracy, literacy, and logical reasoning skills. Appreciation for dimensional variation in assemblies and statistical analysis. Creative, constructive, and positive approach to problem-solving. Excellent communication and influencing skills with technical proficiency. Knowledge of various production and prototype manufacturing methods. Knowledge of DFMEA and DFMA. Experience in Aluminum and Steel Body Structures.Preferred Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering Excellent understanding of GD&T standards Advanced Experience in developing 3DCS models High level of expertise and proficiency with Catia, Enovia, or similar tools including drawing and modelling practices and methodologies Hands-on experience building and launching automotive products Experience with Microsoft Office applications and other information management tools Strong written and verbal communication skills A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Certificate of Accomplishment from a recognized Design educational institution, or equivalent skills and expertise Experience using Confluence, Jira An eagerness to work cross-functionally in a dynamic environment where you are part of a high performing team A system approach to design and development with the desire and curiosity to strive for exceptional delivery execution and continuous improvement

What you’ll be able to do:
Identify and develop team skills to align with Ford’s vision. Apply advanced skills and experience in 3DCS for 3D variation analysis and modelling. Create, structure and maintain large assemblies in 3DCS effectively. Maintain, update, and enhance 3DCS models throughout the development cycle. Implement kinematic systems into 3DCS for motion analysis. Conduct and support 1D and 3D dimensional feasibility studies. Correlate and Analyze 3DCS results and provide recommendations and proposal. Perform tolerance analysis for Body-In-White, Exterior, Interior, Closures, Sub Systems.Apply Strong knowledge of GD&T (ASME Y14.5 – 2018) principles and their application in manufacturing and quality control. Solve dimensional issues by collaborating with design, production, and quality assurance. Define and optimize datum strategies to enhance product quality based on tolerance analysis feedback. Develop and architect body build sequences, focusing on dimensional accuracy, process variation, and manufacturing feasibility. Provide strong experience in support product development during different build phases emphasizing quality analysis & quality check processes.
