Are you in recovery from Drug+/Alcohol misuse? Would you like to leverage that valuable experience to support others as a Peer Mentor in Croydon.  If so, this is the perfect opportunity for you! We are currently offering a unique role as a DWP Peer Mentor.

 

This is a Fixed Term Contract Until 31st March 2025.

 

 

Where: Croydon
Full Time Hours: 37.5 per week 
Full Time Salary: £23,400.00 - £24,466.99 , dependent on experience (pro rata for part time) 

Allowance: £4,072.06 Inner London Weighting, Pro Rata

Responsibilities

About the role:

Inspire and support Mentees in managing dependencies, accessing appropriate support, and moving towards employmentEngage individuals on a one-to-one basis to understand their goals and aspirationsEmpower and build confidence in mentees, providing emotional support as neededCollaborate on action plans, reviewing and evaluating impactWork with individuals to increase their confidence, empowering and supporting them to achieve their goalsWork closely with DWP work coaches and local substance misuse servicesComplete, review and evaluate action/impact/support/care plans with mentees

About you:

Lived experience of substance misuse and recoveryStrong written, verbal, and IT skillsAbility to build relationships with empathy and non-judgmental approachConfidence working both independently and as part of a teamCalm and collected under pressureAbility to work with professional boundaries Excellent time management skills, and an ability to work on own initiative prioritising accordingly
