**Overview** Savannah River Mission Completion (SRMC) is seeking an **Defense Waste Processing Facility (DWPF)** **Issue Investigator** to be based in our Aiken, SC location on the Savannah River Site (SRS). **Apply online using a current resume under the careers section of** **www.savannahrivermissioncompletion.com** **.** The **DWPF** **Issue Investigator** conducts timely investigations of Occurrence Reporting and Processing System (ORPS) and non-ORPS reportable incidents at the direction of Project Directors or Facility/Operations Managers. Assists with the administration of programs for assigned area/facility. Responds to and resolves corrective action issues, conducts field observations, and supports facility self-assessment requirements. **Responsibilities** + Uses company and facility knowledge breadth and experience in technical areas to investigate incidents. Gains continuous knowledge through formal or informal training, briefings, and/or walkthroughs. + Leads Issue Investigation meetings in a manner consistent with ISMS and HPI principles, site procedures and DOE Orders. + Ensures personnel secure conditions at the incident location and carefully document the configuration and conditions of physical environment, including photographs and field notes. + Collects and reviews personal statements for adequacy, accuracy, and understanding from personnel directly involved with the issue. + Interviews direct line management supervisors, supporting oversight personnel, work control, work release personnel, emergency responders, including those directly involved with the issue as necessary. + Gathers accurate monitoring information from Radiation Protection, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Protection, as applicable, e.g., unexpected exposures or releases. + Prepares and develops a timeline of events and summary report of facts with statements, interview notes, photographs, and other documentation to support an Issue Investigation. + Acts as the Issue Investigation director for Issue Investigation meetings as appropriate. + Facilitates a non-biased issue investigation process. + Assists with administration of corrective action, self-assessment, and management field observations program. + Prepares reports, presentations, metrics, and/or other materials as required or requested by management. + Assists others or may conduct fundamental root and/or apparent cause analyses. + Attends and may lead weekly management review team meetings. + Other duties as assigned **Qualifications** **High School Diploma/GED and practical work experience in plant operations/maintenance, project, or technical area as defined in the job description.** Additional Information: + Must obtain Issue Investigation Director qualifications within 6 months of hire date. **Preferred Qualifications** + Bachelor's or Associate's degree **About** Savannah River Mission Completion (SRMC), a prime contractor for the US Department of Energy, is responsible for managing the Department of Energy’s Savannah River Site’s Liquid Waste operations contract.
