DZ Driver (Full Time) - Dryden, ON

Primary Purpose

The Cylinder Route Truck Driver is accountable for the delivery of compressed gas cylinders to customers sites or premises.

Key Accountabilities

Deliver cylinder products to scheduled customers via a tandem, single axle truck, tractor-trailer combination.Load and unload cylinders, count and record quantities and styles of product to ensure actual load complies with shipping documentsDrivers will be required to load and unload cylindersComplete electronic trip reports, fuel tickets and other necessary reportsComplete site surveys of equipment at customer locationsUse of handheld electronic computers to process deliveries at customer sitesFollowing all standard operating procedures to safely complete deliveries at customer sitesCompletion of pre- and post-trip inspectionsAble to work potential on-call operational support shifts (depending on location)

Required Qualifications

Education

High school graduate or equivalent experience

Experience

24 months for commercial vehicles as a pre-condition for selection.12 months of relevant driving experience within the previous 2 years with equipment that is similar in size and type the driver will operate. (before 3 Years)No Level 1 or Level 2 equivalent “in control” vehicle incidents within the past 24 months.Road test to verify defensive and safe driving capabilities for commercial vehicle drivers.Medical fitness confirmation for commercial vehicle drivers.Relevant product knowledge and experience preferred

Mechanical aptitudeKnowledge of compressed gases and the safe handling of gasesValid DZ or AZ license with air brake endorsementTransportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) and Workplace Hazardous Materials InformationSystem (WHMIS) trainingSome knowledge of vehicle maintenanceKnowledge of onboard computerAbility to operate a smartphone

Physical and Sensory Demands:

Ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, or carry objects up to 50 pounds

Working Environment:

Company vehicleCustomer sites (bars and restaurants, medical marijuana production facilities, breweries, swimming pools, metal fabrication facilities, hospitals/laboratories.)Warehouse/OfficeOutdoors in inclement weather (rain, snow, heat, cold, etc.)Construction sites, Mining sites, Nuclear power plants
