E-2D Quality Engineer
Title: E-2D Quality Engineer KBR is seeking an E-2D Quality Engineer to join our Team. This position supports tasking for PMA-231 E-2D Technical Data LEM, NAVAIR Head Quarters in Patuxent River, MD.​ E-2/C-2 Airborne Command and Control Systems Program Office (PMA-231) is responsible for providing the E-2C Hawkeye, E-2D Advanced Hawkeye, Hawkeye 2000 and the C-2A Greyhound fleet with acquisition strategy, logistics and sustainment solutions in support of the warfighter’s mission. Job Description: + The successful candidate will support the E-2D aircraft Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM) Technical Data development. + The successful candidate will have a Quality Assurance background, be familiar with General Series Technical Manuals and their use. + The selected candidate will possess the ability to interpret, research, and use engineering technical data. The successful candidate will have experience with Naval Aviation Maintenance Combined Validation and Verification (CVV) Processes. The candidate will be required to interface with representatives from multiple organizations, within and outside of the Program. + Tasking will include administrative support for the Technical Data Logistics Element Manager (LEM), quality assurance analysis, quality assurance review and management relating to the E-2D Advanced Hawkeye aircraft and support equipment. + This position will review and provide feedback on all S1000D Issue 3.01 and 4.1 IETM Data Modules to assure functionality, conversion and technical accuracy. The successful candidate for this position is expected to become NATEC QA Certified during the course of the project as soon as scheduled VAL/VER events occur. Basic Qualifications: + BA/BS degree plus 5 years of avionics, QA, or aviation maintenance experience is required. In lieu of degree, at least 13 years of experience in a related field is required. + Must have a strong QA and maintenance background that includes Naval Aviation Maintenance management, Configuration management, and Quality Assurance inspection methods. + Must be familiar with General Series Technical Manuals and their use. The ability to interpret, research, and use engineering technical data is necessary. + Participation in Combined Validation Verification events and IPRs is required. + Travel is required. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as dictated by aircraft availability is required. + Must have an active secret level security clearance. Preferred Experience + Prior NATEC QA certification is preferred. + Past designation in a USN/USMC/USAF Avionics rating. + Past experience in an aviation O level Maintenance Control position. + Experience using the NAVAIR Standard IETM Viewer (NSIV) is desired. + Experience with Naval Aviation Maintenance Combined Validation and Verification (CVV) Processes is desired. + Prior experience providing QA for the E-2D IETM is preferred. + The preferred candidate will have the ability to work with the following software programs: Adobe Pro, MS Office Suite SW: Word, Excel, Power Point, and MS Project. Familiarity with the International Specification for Technical Publications S1000D, NAVAIR Publications Development Instructions and the Technical Manual Writing Style Guide is desired, but not required. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: + Must be able to prepare draft analysis documents and other material for internal review by subject matter experts and final review by customer. + Must be able to work independently, be team oriented, and possess strong customer facing skills. + Must be flexible and have the ability to adapt to new information and programs. + Ability to write in a clear and concise manner, possessing excellent verbal and written communication skills. + Must have the ability to research, review, and understand technical information and be able to perform quality assurance (QA) of technical documentation. Attendance: + Must exhibit flexibility of work hours to adjust to surge situations based on critical mission requirements. + Periodically, Combined Validation Verification (CVV) events require surge working events that occur based upon aircraft availability, including nights and weekends. + Travel (including airline travel) is required, normally in conjunction with CVV events and/or meetings. + Must be able to work in both office and aircraft hangar settings. Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 hours/week Compensation: $93,200-140,000. The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity. Additional Compensation: KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of a sign-on bonus, relocation benefits, short-term incentives, long-term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
