An amazing number, but we’re always looking for new ways to continue making a difference, and new people to make a difference with. **The opportunity** + Safeguard the company from legal, regulatory, and reputational risks by acting as a primary contact and ensuring accountability for electronic discovery (e-discovery), legal hold processes, information governance, and information technology. + Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to ensure consistency and accountability in the global collection, searching, and preservation of documents related to ongoing litigation. Additionally, enhance current legal document hold processes. + Guide collaboration with internal and external counsel to define the scope of document searches and collections. Utilize technology to ensure legally defensible and narrowly tailored document collections and discovery responses in active litigation. + Offer strategic and technical guidance on electronic discovery planning and budgeting by collaborating with internal and external counsel, electronic discovery vendors, and our global IT department on IT projects, including implementing Microsoft 365. + Manage and support internal and external counsel in potential disputes related to the Company's e-discovery and preservation practices + Perform other duties as assigned This position is located in Parsippany, New Jersey and the ideal candidate will work onsite. **How you’ll spend your day** + Collaborating with internal and external legal teams to understand case requirements and objectives. + Developing project plans and timelines, including tasks, milestones, and resource allocation. + Assign collection tasks and projects to ESI team members and monitor progress to meet deadlines. + Coordinating data collection efforts from various sources, including servers, email accounts, and cloud platforms. + Managing external vendors, such as eDiscovery service providers and forensic experts. + Overseeing data processing, analysis, and review activities to ensure accuracy and quality. + Identifying and mitigating risks that may impact project timelines or outcomes. + Communicating regularly with stakeholders to provide updates on project status, challenges, and recommendations. + Tracking project expenses and managing budgets to ensure cost-effectiveness. + Manage and document project activities, decisions, and outcomes to manage risk and costs. + Conducting post-project evaluations to identify lessons learned and areas for improvement. + Staying informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and advancements in eDiscovery technology to enhance project delivery and outcomes. + Participating in the discovery process, including custodian interviews and documentation of data sources **Your experience and qualifications** • A minimum of 7 years of legal experience at a distinguished law firm, multinational corporation or government • A minimum of 5 years of e-discovery experience, including leading complex litigation involving document collection, searches, and preservation, as well as analysis of complex data sets and legal issues • Significant knowledge of e-discovery case law, as well as familiarity with litigation and legal documents, including experience in drafting and responding to written discovery • Excellent computer abilities, including knowledge of information technology and data privacy that are relevant to interface with ediscovery, data privacy, and IT colleagues • Knowledge of e-discovery trends, e.g., EDRM, and tools, including the use of search terms in collections, document review (e.g., TAR and CAR), and best practices for preserving and archiving documents while reducing litigation risk • Strong familiarity with document review workflows and processes • Experience in developing policies and procedures **Enjoy a more rewarding choice** We offer a competitive benefits package, including: · Comprehensive Health Insurance: Medical, Dental, Vision, and Prescription coverage starting on the first day of employment, providing the employee enrolls. · Retirement Savings: 401(k) with employer match, up to 6% and an annual 3.75% Defined Contribution to the 401k plan. · Time Off: Paid Time Off including vacation, sick/safe time, caretaker time and holidays. · Life and Disability Protection: Company paid Life and Disability insurance. · The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered.
