Job Description Faststream are working with a dynamic and fast moving company at the forefront of offshore decommissioning. As an E&I Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting the preparation and execution phases of offshore decommissioning projects, particularly during the critical interfaces between topside platforms and removal teams. You will work on developing fit-for-purpose solutions for offshore electrical systems and instrumentation, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and providing technical support both onshore and offshore.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, Plan, and Execute Offshore Electrical and Instrumentation Systems
Gather, review, and assess data related to installations (platforms and jack-ups), including drawings, operation procedures, and datasheets. Design and propose solutions for instrumentation and power systems at platform-jack-up interfaces. Collaborate with project teams to define power supply requirements, and assist in the design, procurement, and installation of electrical layouts. Provide Offshore E&I Support
Troubleshoot and provide on-site support to offshore teams on all E&I-related issues during decommissioning projects. Deliver technical expertise in platform control systems and instrumentation, assisting rig management and electricians with any required tasks. Ensure proper management of electrical systems, ensuring safety and operational continuity. Offshore Supervision
Oversee and supervise offshore activities during key project phases, including the preparation and execution of electrical and instrumentation tasks. Act as a technical point of contact, ensuring smooth coordination between onshore and offshore teams. Compliance and Expertise
Ensure all E&I work complies with international codes, standards, and marine/offshore regulations. Stay updated with UK oil and gas regulations, supporting the company in adhering to local and international rules. Qualifications & Skills:
Education:
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
Technical Skills:
Knowledge of international electrical codes and standards (familiarity with marine and offshore regulations is a plus). Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in E&I systems. Proficiency in MS Office and AutoCAD (general knowledge). Strong communication skills with fluency in English (Dutch or French is a plus). Strong experience in an industrial environment with a focus on electrical and instrumentation engineering and site operations.
Experience in offshore or marine environments is a strong advantage.
