Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Electrical & Instrumentation Procurement Manager to join our team in Pune. This role involves overseeing the procurement process for electrical and instrumentation materials, equipment, and services required for various projects. The Procurement Manager will work closely with internal teams, vendors, and suppliers to ensure the timely and cost-effective sourcing of materials while maintaining quality and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement Management:
Oversee the procurement of electrical and instrumentation materials and equipment, including cables, switchgear, transformers, control systems, transmitters, sensors, etc.Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure cost-effectiveness, on-time delivery, and quality standards.Maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers, negotiating pricing, delivery terms, and lead times to meet project requirements.Vendor Management:
Identify and qualify new suppliers and vendors to ensure a reliable supply chain.Evaluate vendor performance regularly to ensure adherence to quality standards, pricing agreements, and timely delivery.Address and resolve any supplier-related issues such as quality concerns, delivery delays, or discrepancies.Cost Control and Budget Management:
Work closely with project managers to determine the materials and equipment required and ensure procurement aligns with the project’s budget and timelines.Monitor procurement costs, track expenditures, and identify opportunities for cost reduction while maintaining quality and safety standards.Contract Management:
Negotiate and manage procurement contracts with vendors, ensuring that terms and conditions align with project needs and compliance standards.Ensure timely delivery of procurement materials and handle any disputes or issues arising during the contract lifecycle.Collaboration and Coordination:
Collaborate with project engineers, design teams, and other stakeholders to understand technical requirements and ensure that procurement aligns with project specifications.Ensure seamless coordination between procurement, logistics, and warehouse teams to manage stock levels and inventory.Compliance and Reporting:
Ensure procurement processes comply with company policies, industry standards, and relevant regulatory requirements.Prepare regular procurement reports and updates for senior management and project stakeholders.Risk Management:
Identify potential risks related to the supply chain, quality, and cost, and take proactive measures to mitigate them.Address any unforeseen issues promptly to minimize disruptions to project timelines.Qualifications and Skills
Education:
· Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or related field. A master’s degree in business management or supply chain management is a plus.
Experience:
Minimum of 12-15 years of experience in procurement, specifically for electrical and instrumentation projects.Proven experience managing vendor relationships and negotiating contracts.Experience in project-based procurement and understanding of the electrical and instrumentation industry standards.Skills:
