The incumbent is responsible for maintaining and supporting manufacturing process machinery, equipment and in the manufacturing areas. Maintain equipment to keep it running smoothly, perform tests and calibrations, repair or replace components and troubleshoot equipment operational problems.  Interpret diagnostic and repair control systems.  Dismantles and/or repairs devices to gain access to and removes defective parts using hand tools and power tools.  Examines form and textures of parts to detect imperfections.  Conducts preventive/predictive maintenance to equipment such as Multivac, Alloyds. Ompul, vacuum and infusion pumps, molding presses and other manufacturing equipment’s.

Repairs and maintains in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manual and manufacturer’s specifications:  PLC system, machinery and mechanical equipment (such as packaging, sealers machines, and molding presses Multivac machine) in the manufacturing areas.

Sets up and operates welder, drill press, grinder and other metal working tools to make and repair parts.

Visualize the digital logic of a PLC system.

Performs equipment repair/upgrades as requested by the manager or supervisor.

Assists in the installation of new production equipment and machinery.

Assist in the development, engineering and procurement of tooling, general production fixturing and instrumentation systems.

Maintains tools and workshop clean and organized at all moment.

Maintains optimum amounts of spare parts available on stock and properly identified and initiates requisition orders on time.

Maintains records and documentation in files organized and updated. Assures that correct safety, environmental and security procedures are followed in all equipment operation at all times, in order to avoid injuries or accidents. Performs Preventive/Predictive Maintenance and routine inspections such as cleaning, lubrication, adjustment and replacement of components as required per maintenance procedures and schedule.

Utilize manufacturer’s instructions, drawings operations and service manuals as required, during equipment repairs and maintenance activities.

Realizes audits to facilities such as production machines, air conditioners and HEPA filters. Performs major repairs, troubleshooting or overhauls of production equipment and machinery as necessary.

Study blueprints, schematics, manuals, or other specifications to determine equipment installation, troubleshooting, repairs and maintenance procedures. Performs other job-related duties as requested by the Manager or Supervisor.

Willing to work extended and different shifts or weekends if need arises. Team work oriented and ability to work with minimum supervision.

Qualifications:

Technical School graduate or equivalent in electronic, or electromechanical. Technical School courses preferred in electronic, mechanics, electricity or related field.

Three (3) year experience as Electronic Technician or certified industrial mechanic in Pharmaceutical or Medical Device Industry.

Knowledge in electronic and instrumentation techniques.

General Knowledge in Allen Bradley, Siemens, GE, Omron and/or Hitachi PLC system.

Knowledge in Preventive maintenance software (Maximo).

Knowledge in Hydraulic and Pneumatic system, pumps and motors

Knowledge in HVAC or refrigeration systems (desirable).

Basic knowledge of computers system and software (Microsoft Office, SCADA software and Internet).Ability to work under unusual working environment such as noise, grease, and awkward positions.

Knowledge in electronic, electricity and instrumentation techniques

Ability to work with different hand tools and power tools.

Demonstrated knowledge of FDA, OSHA, EPA and ISO regulations and standards.

Ability to communicate and read in English and Spanish.

Ability to self-taught in the use of analytical, maintenance and service equipment. 

Willing and able to be trained and learn new technologies as the skills of an Instrument Technician advance with new technologies and applications.

Willing to be on a emergency standby mode to handle emergency calls at all Integra Facilities

Willing to work overtime and provide off hours call out support in order to continue 24/7 plant operations.
