The Brown University Library’s unit of Resource Acquisitions seeks a highly collaborative and creative library professional to assume the E-Resources Discovery and Access Librarian position. Part of the Scholarly Resources Department, this position is critical to maintaining Brown’s significant
investment in electronic scholarly resources, including E-books, E-journals, databases, and streaming media.
This position will be responsible for managing the Library’s enhancement and maintenance of e-resources metadata to support and maximize e-resource discovery in the Brown University Library Alma/Primo environment, and will manage and develop local workflows for providing and maintaining quality metadata for our electronic resources. In addition, the position provides leadership and expertise for establishing and maintaining stable and consistent online access to e-resources through coordination and leadership of e-resource troubleshooting, engaging subject librarians, vendors, and staff in the process. Reporting to the Director of Resource Acquisitions, the E-Resources Discovery and Access Librarian is responsible for providing leadership and supervision for the Senior Library Expert–Data Management, whose role is developing assessment metrics for electronic resources. Together, this team provides expert management and oversight for Brown’s extensive e-portfolio.
This position will be hired at a Librarian II rank in the Brown University Library’s Program for Library Professionals, a professional development program whose aim is to support the advancement of career professionals.

Job Qualifications
MLIS degree from ALA-accredited program or equivalent experience and training required.Successful experience in staff supervision and training in a library environment.Minimum 2 years of experience and demonstrated proficiency with current and emerging practices for electronic resource access and discovery.Education and Experience
Knowledge of the current landscape for user security, privacy and identity management for electronic resources.Knowledge of the discovery and access best practices for e-resources of all kinds.Excellence in the following skills: verbal and written communication, interpersonal interactions and working closely with diverse collaborators, planning, both organizational and analyticalDemonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and justice.All offers of employment are contingent upon a criminal background check and education verification satisfactory to Brown University.
