Boeing Defence United Kingdom LimitedBoeing Defence UK Limited (BDUK) is seeking an experienced professional with expertise in Continuing Airworthiness Management to act as the BDUK Aircraft Programmes MILCAM in a Part M-approved organization to join team based out of Birmingham, United Kingdom.
This role will play a key part in ensuring compliance and airworthiness management for the UK MOD Wedgetail AEW Mk 1 acquisition contract as part of BDUK’s Military Aviation Authority (MAA) Regulatory Publication (MRP) Part M Military Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation (Mil CAMO).
The role requires obtaining relevant approvals to become a Form 4 holder and approved as Mil CAM.
The position will involve some travel, primarily to Birmingham International Airport where the modification activity is conducted by a Boeing-contracted MRP Part 145 AMO.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual with a strong background in airworthiness management to play a pivotal role in delivering a key capability to the RAF’s Airborne Early Warning and Control fleet.
Position Responsibilities:
Acting as the BDUK Military Continuing Airworthiness Manager (Mil CAM), your responsibilities will include:
Leadership and Oversight
Managing day-to-day operations of the BDUK AP Mil CAMO at Birmingham International Airport
Ensure the timely and high-quality delivery of the Wedgetail AEW Mk 1 acquisition contract, maintaining strict regulatory compliance
Overseeing all technical tasks to ensure that aircraft maintenance records, Airworthiness Directives (ADs), Service Bulletins (SBs), and modifications are accurately documented and maintained
Act as the Central focal for the CAMSS team interacting with the Company’s Senior Leadership, Key Suppliers and the Military Customer
Programme Execution
Manage the development and maintenance of the BDUK Continuing Airworthiness Management Exposition (CAME) and Interface Control Documents with the Customer, Boeing Accountable Manager (Military Flying), and Boeing MRP Part 21J Design Organisation
Lead the drive for effective communication and collaboration between the Boeing MRP Part 21J Design Organisation and the Boeing-contracted MRP Part 145 Approved Maintenance Organisation (AMO) to ensure continuous airworthiness management
Ensure the quality of output at all times meets Boeing standards
Metrics and Monitoring
Oversee and set requirements to develop and implement metrics and dashboards to monitor Continuing Airworthiness Management performance, ensuring continuous improvement for the BDUK AP Mil CAMO
Policy and Compliance
Lead the development and enhancement of BDUK Mil CAMO’s continuing airworthiness processes, including resolving audit findings
Ensure the effective use of the BDUK Safety Management System, identifying risks, recommending corrective actions, and maintaining safety standards
Support the BDUK Quality Management System, including internal and external audits, Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) processes, and compliance with MRP requirements
Manage the interaction with the CAM Quality Manager for MAA and oversee third-party audits, ensuring ongoing MRP complianceRegulatory Compliance and Modification Control
Monitor changes in aviation regulations and ensure alignment with evolving standards
Oversee modification and configuration control, including repair activities
Initiate updates to the Aircraft Maintenance Program (AMP) to incorporate modifications, ADs/SBs, and Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) findings
Review engineering orders for SB/AD compliance, ensuring deadlines are met
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
Chartered Engineer (CEng) status
Demonstrated experience with MAA Regulations and UK MoD airworthiness policies, procedures, and culture within an aircraft operations environment.
In-depth knowledge of MRP Part M and MRP Part 145 requirements and procedures.
Understanding of the Accountable Manager (Military Flying) requirements and responsibilities.
Preferred Qualification (Desired Skills/Experience):
Proven ability to collaborate in planning and developing meaningful metrics to track compliance and performance
Experience in identifying and executing process improvements, with a focus on strategy and project execution
Strong communication skills, technical expertise, and familiarity with logistics information and maintenance management tools
Previous experience in continuing airworthiness engineering within the industry or military service
Knowledge of quality management systems, including AS9100 standards
Familiarity with the application of UK MAA MRP, EASA, EDA, FAA, and other international airworthiness standards
Specific experience or knowledge of the E-7 Wedgetail, Boeing 737 military derivatives, or Boeing 737 air systems
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and related in-house systems (e.g., CAMP, MBF)
