Job Description
The Gastrointestinal Oncology Service in the Division of Solid Tumor Oncology, Department of Medicine, is seeking an investigator with expertise in translational and clinical research focused on gastroesophageal cancers. This investigator will be appointed as the Debbie’s Dream Foundation Gastric Cancer Investigator and will play a pivotal role in advancing patient care, research, and education in esophageal and gastric cancers.
This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated researcher to join one of the world's leading cancer centers. Under the mentorship of Dr. Yelena Janjigian, Chief of the Gastrointestinal Oncology Service, the investigator will have up to one year (with the possibility of extension) of protected research time to focus on biomarker development, laboratory research, and translational studies in gastroesophageal cancer.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Participate in clinical trials and translational research to advance gastroesophageal cancer treatments.
+ Conduct innovative research leveraging clinical data, biospecimens, and translational research methodologies.
+ Collaborate with multiple laboratories to analyze molecular, genetic, and experimental data to drive discoveries.
+ Assist in the development of grant proposals for major funding agencies, including NIH, DoD, and private foundations.
+ Draft and publish high-impact manuscripts, abstracts, and research findings.

Qualifications:
+ MD, MD/PhD, or PhD in oncology, translational medicine, molecular biology, or a related field.
+ Expertise in translational research, molecular/genetic concepts, and data analysis.
+ Experience in biomarker development, immuno-oncology, or targeted therapies is highly desirable.
+ Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
Location: New York, New York
Salary Range: $80,000 - $125,000
