What Your Job Will Be Like: We are seeking a highly motivated and passionate Systems Engineer to join our Environmental, Safety and Health (ES&H) Information and Requirements Management team. This role is integral to our Digital Transformation journey, focusing on the development, execution, integrations, and maintenance of reporting and analytics functionalities. The successful candidate will work closely with ES&H program leads and the Data Warehouse subject matter experts to enhance data interaction and reporting capabilities for a comprehensive, center-wide Measures and Metrics initiative. On any given day, you may be called on to: + Integrate with IT Resources: Collaborate with IT teams to plan future functionalities and interactions for reporting and analytics across multiple custom and commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) applications. + Develop and Enhance Reporting: Create, modify, and improve reporting mechanisms at all ES&H levels to provide better performance information. + Data Warehouse Advancements: Partner with IT to develop future Data Warehouse enhancements, focusing on creating consumable tables/views to support reporting, analytics, performance monitoring and data-driven decisions. + Data Compilation and Reporting: Utilize common office software and proprietary tools to compile and generate reports, statistics, timelines, tables, and graphs, aiding leadership in making data-driven decisions. + Data Analysis and Reconciliation: Review and analyze data, reconcile report discrepancies, and ensure data accuracy. + Process and Training Development: Develop, implement, maintain, and manage effective processes and training materials to support IT applications for ES&H. + Continuous Improvement: Participate in structured improvement activities and lessons learned forums to support the implementation of the Digital Transformation roadmap. + IT Process Evaluation: Evaluate IT requests with the ES&H future framework in mind and provide recommendations to leadership. + Presentation Development: Develop and deliver presentations to a variety of audiences, effectively communicating complex information. + Project Management: Develop project milestones and schedules to ensure timely and successful project completion. This position is eligible for telecommuting and the selected applicant must live within a reasonable distance for commuting to the assigned work location when necessary. Salary Range: $70,200 - $157,500 *Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential. Qualifications We Require: + Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline plus (2) years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and related experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the job. + Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE L-level security clearance. Qualifications We Desire: + Experience developing data visualizations using tools such as SQL, Power BI or Tableau. + Master’s degree in a relevant field. + Strong knowledge of business analytics principles and practices. + Proven experience in data management, including data collection, storage and analysis. + Knowledge of and experience in ES&H programs. + Proficiency in process analysis and development. + Expertise in project planning and management. + Demonstrated success in organizing, prioritizing, and completing multiple tasks under strict deadlines, frequent interruptions and changing priorities. + Strong organizational, team-building, facilitation, planning, communication, and interpersonal skills to effectively work with multiple levels of management, workforce members and external contacts. + Strong analytical and critical thinking skills. + Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint. + Ability to work independently and within a team environment. + Active L or Q Security Clearance; or other Active DOE/DOD clearance. About Our Team: The ES&H Information and Requirements Management organization designs integrated processes and provides centralized resources for ES&H. We are workforce and partner focused, contributing to both tactical and strategic activities across ES&H through a dynamic systems approach. Responsibilities include requirements and obligation management, management systems alignment, ESHield management and data integration, information technology alignment, information management and management of change.
